MYM: Non-Profit Is Bringing An Amazing Job Fair To DC

A job fair that provides second chances is being organized by a national nonprofit called Better Together and the Anacostia River Church in Washington D.C.

The fair is intended to help job seekers who have faced barriers such as:

  • past incarceration
  • lack of transportation
  • childcare
  • homelessness

The event will offer attendees resources such as one-on-one coaching sessions, free haircuts, and resume advice.

The job fair will take place in 21 states, and nearly half of all participants who attend job fairs organized by the nonprofit will receive job offers on the spot. The CEO of Better Together, Megan Rose, stated that the events will provide hope and opportunities for those striving for financial stability and independence.

For the DMV, The job fair will be held on Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DC Dream Center.

We share a feel-good story that is guaranteed to Make Your Monday every Monday at 7:40A.
