Festival Goers Are Getting Sticker Shock At Coachella

The first of two weekends of the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival kicked off on Friday and while the fashions of attendees and the music of performers was the real focus, the food, and drinks were getting a lot of attention as well. Just getting in is pretty pricey, with general admission tickets going for $549 and VIP for $1,609, but those who were there were also apparently spending a fortune to eat and drink.

Festival-goers at the California event may have been enjoying the artists, but they weren’t loving the sky-high prices of food and drinks and they flooded social media with videos showing how much things cost.

  • TikTok user Jackie Tanti went viral for her video revealing she spent $64 on two burritos and two iced coffees. She did say they were actually pretty good, but captions the clip, “The s**ttiest part of Coachella.”
  • Another TikToker, Yvette, posted a video called, “Everything I ate at Coachella day one,' and got more than 2.1 million views. In it she shares that she started the day with a ginger smoothie for $12, had a small platter of hibachi chickens and noodles for $23, two fried mushroom baos for $22, a cocktail for $18, and ended the night with three sliders with tater tots for $26.
  • On the second day, Yvette had two vodka Red Bulls for $26 each, curly fries with cheese and chili for $24 and a banh mi for $22.
  • A TikTok user named Shane Yang shares that he paid $18.50 for chicken tenders and fries, $20 for a tuna poke bowl and $18 for pad thai with tofu.
  • Magda, another TikToker, forked over a total of $113.64, including an iced tea for $12.51, a gyro for $15.22, a beer also for $15.22, a corn dog for $14.14 and a funnel cake for $12.51
