MYM: MD Teen's Book Drive Is Helping Sick Kids Across The DMV

Emily Bhatnagar, a teenager from Maryland, has collected more than 7,000 new and lightly used books for children of all ages, with the aim of distributing them to healthcare facilities across Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.

The initiative, called "For Love and Buttercup" was inspired by Bhatnagar's own love of books, which helped her through her father's illness and her own health concerns. The books were initially intended for pediatric cancer patients but will now also be distributed to healthcare institutions that cater to children.

The donations have been well-received by the hospitals, and Bhatnagar is scheduled to deliver books to more institutions. Her father, who had been fighting Stage 4 thyroid cancer, helped her to deliver the books to the Children's National Hospital in D.C. and has said that his daughter's project has brought him immense joy.

You can purchase book through Emily's Amazon Wishlist OR you can donate gently used books HERE!
