Ed Sheeran’s latest album “Subtract” is on track to become his sixth consecutive Number One album. Having dropped May 5th, “Subtract” is officially the fastest-selling album of 2023, collecting over 56,000 chart units, according to Official Charts Company. The previous record was held by Lana Del Rey for with 41,000 charts for her album “Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd.”
Sheeran is no stranger to the top spot, as his last five albums: 2011’s “+”, 2014’s “X (“Multiply”), 2017’s “÷”, 2019’s “No. 6 Collaborations Project and 2021’s “=” all shot to number one on the Official Albums Chart as well.
Along with the new album and Mathematics Tour, Sheeran has released a four-part documentary on Disney+ called “The Sum Of It All.” This culmination may just be the end of Sheeran’s math-themed era.
