Ozempic "Finger" and Other Weird Side Effects From The Drug

With so many people jumping on the Ozempic trend these days, you’ve probably heard about “Ozempic face,” but it’s not the only potential side effect from the medication. This term refers to the sagging, gaunt appearance of the face that can happen after rapidly losing weight on the drug Ozempic or Wegovy. But the effect isn’t only happening to faces.

Shedding pounds really quickly, as can happen with these medications, can also lead to “Ozempic butt” and “Ozempic finger.” The thing is, you can’t really control exactly where you lose body fat and weight, so it can leave you with a booty that looks deflated and looser, or fingers that have slimmed down so much, your rings don’t fit anymore. Get this - according to one recent report, jewelers have seen a 150% increase in customers looking to down-size rings and bracelets this year.

This effect can happen with any rapid weight loss, it isn’t specific to these medications. Your skin is amazing and can stretch and expand to fit your body size and shape, but if your body tissue shrinks, your skin may not shrink back down with it. And that’s why some folks turn to plastic surgery to remove excess skin and fillers to add volume after losing that weight.
