A company called Replika specializes in "AI partnerships." The company helps users create unique AI chatbots that will serve as friends, confidants, or boyfriends/girlfriends to the users.
But is talking to a nearly perfect AI chatbot considered cheating? If your partner was doing it ... how would you react?
According to a survey from Illicit Encounters, a UK site for married people seeking an affair, 74% of respondents believe time spent with an AI companion is not cheating. Still, only a small portion of people who have an AI companion discuss this with their real-life partner.
