Some people are fans of the “hot girl walk,” and love to get dressed and head outside for their exercise. But there’s a new fitness trend taking over TikTok with more than a million views and it takes a more relaxed approach to fitness. It’s called “cozy cardio” and it really does embrace bringing all things cozy and comfy to your workout.
Credit for the cute term goes to Hope Zuckerbrow, who first shared videos on TikTok of how she does cozy cardio. In one clip, she gets up at 5:15 in the morning, hydrates, then has some protein coffee and sets the cozy mood by keeping the lights dim, lighting candles and turning on her show to get her steps in on her walking pad (which is like a mini treadmill) in the living room. She gets her workout in by candlelight and while wearing her fuzzy socks and her robe.
Lots of people are getting in on the cozy cardio trend now, too. Fitness enthusiasts are sharing their take on it, whether they start early in the morning or later in the evening, they’re being active in their dimly lit homes. TikToker Allie Bennett, known for her treadmill struts, has shared her "cozy cardio: treadmill strut edition." In the video, she makes the point, “Because not every workout needs to be the sweatiest, most intense moment of your life. Sometimes you can just set some mood lighting and have a comfy lil dance party to your favorite playlist.”
