Food Stylist Creates Personalized Tables For Cookbook Authors

Nurit Kariv, a renowned food stylist, is venturing into the world of high-end tableware with her brand "Nu." Collaborating with local artisans, including ceramicists, glassmakers, and textile artists, they create handmade tableware collections.

The offerings include pastel-hued apple and honey sets, ash wood trays, porcelain water pitchers, and linens with unique watercolor patterns and designs. Kariv's Nu collection is inspired by her background and passion for food styling, with a focus on complementing dishes and creating a warm, homey atmosphere.

Her Rosh Hashanah sale in Tel Aviv is set for September 8-9, featuring these artisanal pieces. Nurit Kariv's expertise in matching table linens and serving pieces with food stems from her upbringing in a family that regularly hosted dinner parties, led by her interior designer parents.

After a career in textile design, Kariv transitioned into styling, focusing on food, interior design, and cosmetics. She has been a full-time stylist for 25 years, collaborating closely with photographers and creating settings that reflect the personalities and intentions of cookbook authors like Adeena Sussman.

In her latest work for Sussman's "Shabbat" cookbook, Kariv aimed to capture the author's blend of religious upbringing and modern Tel Aviv life, emphasizing a family-oriented atmosphere through the use of tablecloths and styling.
