Frederick County Public Schools, in partnership with Under Armour and the Baltimore Ravens, has launched its inaugural season of varsity girls flag football, with nearly 400 girls participating in Wednesday night games. The program aims to empower girls in sports and provide them with opportunities to be pioneers in the sport.
The decision-makers behind this initiative see it as a way to help young women become better leaders and role models in the future through the power of sports. The head coach of Urbana High School's girls' flag football team envisions a future where girls' sports, including flag football, are played on Friday nights with packed stands, fostering confidence, positivity, and belief in oneself.
The opening night saw tremendous support from the community and the Baltimore Ravens, with the Urbana team winning their game!
