The Toy Hall Of Fame Finalists

Ken, Barbie's iconic sidekick, is among the 12 finalists being considered for induction into the National Toy Hall of Fame this year. The Hall of Fame, located at The Strong Museum in Rochester, is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a strong list of contenders, including:

  • Baseball cards
  • Battleship
  • Bingo
  • Bop It
  • Cabbage Patch Kids
  • Choose Your Own Adventure gamebooks
  • Connect 4
  • Little Tykes Cozy Coupe
  • Nerf
  • Slime
  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

Barbie was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998. The honorees for this year will be inducted on November 9 after voting by a selection committee and the public, with the top three toys receiving the most public votes forming a single ballot. To be considered for induction, toys must have achieved iconic status, longevity across generations, innovation, and the ability to foster learning or creativity through play. Last year's inductees included Lite-Brite, Masters of the Universe, and the top, bringing the total number of honorees to 80 to date.
