Even on a good day, balancing family and career as a working mom or dad can be really challenging. But it turns out, where you live can make a big difference. Some places offer infrastructure, work culture and educational opportunities that can make life easier for professionals who are also parents and new research reveals where they are.
- A new report from Coworking Cafe names the best cities for working parents.
- They rated U.S. cities on 10 metrics related to family-friendliness, as well as factors that make it good for working while raising kids in three main categories: education, work & health and environment.
- They looked at everything from the number of “remote eligible” jobs and pediatricians to the affordability of childcare and air quality.
- Washington, D.C. tops the list as the best city for working parents. While the cost of childcare is relatively high there, it’s offset by the large numbers of remote eligible jobs, access to pediatricians, public schools and green spaces.
