SURVEY: How Often We Use Our Phones To Take A Picture

How often do you pull out your phone to take a picture? The average American does it six times a day, according to a new survey.

The poll conducted by OnePoll on behalf of Mixbook reveals:

  • The images filling up our camera rolls include group photos of family (69%), friends (66%), as well as snaps of just friends (63%) and family (58%), as well as selfies (58%), pet pics (52%) and scenery (42%).
  • The events people are most likely to take pictures at are graduations (45%), weddings (44%), vacations (40%), and sporting events (37%).
  • The average person takes 23 photos per event and spends nearly 40% of their time at the event on their phone taking pictures.
  • After the event, they look back at the photos a little more than once a month, or 13 times a year.
  • As a result, the average person has close to 3-thousand photos (2,795) in their phone’s camera roll.
  • Respondents were asked how their photo-taking habits have changed over the last five years and 31% say they take more photos now. Three-quarters of them say they do it because they want to share them with friends and family.
