A four-year-old girl from the U.K., Daisy Hamer, displayed extraordinary courage and quick thinking when she recently saved her mother's life. After her mom, Aimee Hamer, who has a chronic heart condition and other health issues, collapsed and became unresponsive, Daisy called the emergency services and, guided by the operator's instructions, successfully performed CPR. Her actions, including managing to tell emergency services how to get to their home, were instrumental in her mother’s survival.
In recognition of her heroic efforts, the East Midlands Ambulance Service awarded Daisy for her bravery. Her ability to provide essential information to the paramedics and assist in her mother's care at such a young age is highly praiseworthy. The event has made the four-year-old decide she wants to be a paramedic or surgeon when she grows up.
Because of her health concerns, Aimee had taught her four children how to call for help and a fun rhyme to help them remember their address, a decision she’s grateful for now. Her foresight in teaching her kids how to react in an emergency proves how invaluable being prepared can be. In this case, it might just have saved her life.
