A Montgomery County animal adoption center has taken a step to encourage more adoptions by waiving all adoption fees until further notice.
The shelter, located in Derwood, is currently at full capacity, and there is an urgent need for adoptions, as stated in a release on Tuesday. A variety of animals, including dogs, cats, guinea pigs, rabbits, and reptiles, are eagerly waiting for loving homes at the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (MCASAC).
Located at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road, the center is temporarily open 7 days a week with no appointments required for adoptions
You also have to option to complete an online questionnaire and submitting the necessary documents via email. Alternatively, they can initiate the process in person at the center.
Adoptions operate on a first-come, first-served basis by appointment, and walk-ins are accommodated based on counselor availability, according to the release.
This initiative follows a previous adoption event in October, where MCASAC waived fees for dogs weighing 40 pounds and over due to an urgent need for adopters. In August, the county highlighted that MCASAC had reached a dangerous capacity, leading to the waiver of adoption fees for the next 100 pets adopted by Aug. 24.
Take advantage of this opportunity to make a positive impact by providing a forever home to a furry friend in need. Visit the center at 7315 Muncaster Mill Road and be a part of this compassionate adoption drive.
