A survey from November from the American Enterprise Institute found that Gen Z’s going to therapy more than every other generation. Of course, therapy looks different for everyone. But there are some common issues therapists have found of that members of Gen Z bring up in therapy.
“Recognizing that many individuals share similar struggles fosters a sense of connection, reducing the isolation that often accompanies mental health disorders,” psychologist Nekeshia Hammond explains. “Seeking support from mental health professionals, friends, or support groups provides a safe space to share experiences and gain perspective.”
What are the things that Gen Zers tend to bring up the most in therapy? Gen Z shared six of them with “Huffington Post.”
- Anxiety
- The pressure of finding a job
- Indecision when faced with multiple choices
- Body Image
- Stress about relationship compatibility
- Gaining support for community
