A bag containing $30-thousand was left on a Long Island Rail Road train and was fortunately reunited with its owner thanks to the efforts of Assistant Conductor Christopher Nocito and MTA Police Detective Kristin Riker. Nocito discovered the forgotten bag during a routine check and was surprised by its contents. He then handed it over to Detective Riker, who found a date book inside listing the owner's upcoming appointments.
Using the information from the date book, the detective contacted the owner's mechanic, who helped identify the owner, leading to the bag being returned. The story was shared on social media, prompting amazement from commenters at the owner's forgetfulness but also admiration for the honesty and efforts of those involved in reuniting the owner with their money.
Many people couldn’t believe how someone could forget such a large sum of money and emphasized the importance of being careful with valuables. But there was also recognition of the honesty shown by those involved in making sure the bag was returned to its rightful owner, highlighting that there are still honest people out there who are willing to do the right thing.
