Apple Announces New AI Initiative for iPhone, Mac, and iPad

Apple revealed a push into artificial intelligence features for several of its products yesterday. The next version of the company’s operating system for iPhones, Macs, and iPads, will include generative AI able to improve or summarize text and supplement photos with image generation. The new tech, named “Apple Intelligence” by Apple, will also be integrated into Siri, allowing the assistant to retain context from previous requests and improve its language comprehension.

The move is being called the most important decision made by Apple in the last ten years. The company has spent recent years issuing new models of its signature items, and in its latest earnings report, smartphone sales dropped 10-percent and iPad sales dropped 17-percent.
