Many Americans experience the "Sunday scaries" as they brace for the upcoming week. This anxiety typically sets in around 3:54 p.m., with 23% of people saying it makes Sundays harder to enjoy. The stress is often linked to concerns about upcoming tasks or uncertainty about how the week will go.
Parents are especially affected, with one in seven citing burnout and lack of rest as the main causes. To fight these feelings, 51% of people spend Sundays binge-watching TV shows, while 31% find comfort in cooking. However, chores like laundry (34%) and cleaning (33%) often interrupt their relaxation.
Sundays also serve as a time for preparation—28% of people cook their largest meals on this day, and many prioritize meal prepping or organizing to get ahead of the week.
