The Washington Commanders used more than their skills to make an impact this past weekend—they used their cleats. During their game against the Tennessee Titans, the players showcased custom-designed cleats as part of the NFL's annual My Cause, My Cleats campaign, bringing attention to causes close to their hearts.
Each pair of cleats was a canvas for powerful stories, featuring designs and messages that highlighted foundations and missions players are passionate about. From local initiatives to global organizations, the cleats symbolized resilience, service, and hope.
Rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels chose to spotlight St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, sharing his admiration for their fight against childhood cancer and life-threatening diseases. Wide receiver Dyami Brown lent his support to The White Ribbon Project, which raises awareness about lung cancer, aiming to change perceptions surrounding the disease.
Veteran Nick Bellore dedicated his cleats to the David Warsen Legacy Foundation, which supports fitness and health initiatives while honoring the memory of a fallen Navy SEAL. Proceeds from their 5K race also fund care packages for deployed service members, a cause Bellore described as a way to build community and show love.
This initiative is part of a league-wide effort to amplify players' voices and shed light on meaningful causes. The Commanders demonstrated that their influence extends far beyond the field, proving they’re not just athletes but agents of positive change.
With every step, the Commanders showed their dedication to building a brighter, more compassionate world—one cleat at a time.
