Mobilize Montgomery: Turning Job Loss into New Opportunity

In Montgomery County, a new center has opened up to help federal workers who suddenly found themselves out of a job. Since it opened on October 9, over 200 people have come by the

Mobilize Montgomery Federal Workforce Career Center in Wheaton, looking for support and a way forward. What makes this place special is that many of the staff have been in the same shoes—working in federal jobs and facing the same struggles. They’re there to guide former federal employees through tough times, helping with everything from updating resumes to exploring new career paths, all with understanding and care.

County leaders know how hard losing a federal job can be, especially after years of service, and they’re determined to help people get back on their feet. This center shows just how powerful community support can be when life throws unexpected challenges our way.
