Your Holiday Escape Starts at Apricot Lane

The holidays are right around the corner — and for a lot of moms, that means one thing: juggling it all. Between the shopping, the decorating, the cooking, the hosting, and trying to keep every family tradition alive, it can start to feel less like a “season of joy” and more like a marathon. Studies even show that nearly 70% of mothers report feeling overstimulated during the holidays. It’s a reminder that while moms are busy making the magic happen, they rarely get to stop and enjoy it themselves.

That’s exactly what inspired local mom and business owner Dana Dorrier to do something a little different this year. Dana, who owns Apricot Lane boutiques in McLean and Potomac, knows firsthand how draining this time of year can be. So she decided to create a calm, cozy escape for moms — something she’s calling “Mom Recharge Hours.”

Throughout November, @apricotlanemclean and @apricotlanepotomacmd will be hosting private, reservation-only shopping sessions designed to help moms unwind, connect, and actually enjoy a bit of the holiday season — without the chaos. Picture light refreshments, soft music, and a peaceful space to browse new arrivals with a little personal styling help (and maybe a glass of something bubbly in hand). It’s not about rushing to find gifts or checking things off a list; it’s about slowing down and remembering that you deserve to enjoy this time, too.

“As a mom myself, I know how overwhelming this time of year can feel,” Dana says. “These recharge hours are about creating space for women to slow down and actually enjoy the holiday season — guilt-free.”

Whether you come solo for a quiet night out, or bring a few friends for some laughter and retail therapy, it’s a little reminder that taking care of yourself isn’t selfish — it’s necessary. Moms spend so much of the holidays making everyone else feel special. This is your moment to do the same for yourself.

Mom Recharge Hours are happening all month long at Apricot Lane’s McLean and Potomac locations, by reservation. For details and to reserve your spot, follow @apricotlanemclean and @apricotlanepotomacmd on Instagram — and treat yourself to the calm before the holiday storm.
