Hilary Duff is opening up about her difficult split from ex-husband Mike Comrie.

In the February 25 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, the "Mature" singer got candid with host Alex Cooper about her divorce from the former NHL player and the feelings that led to their "pretty fast" split in 2015, per E! News. Duff married Comrie in 2010 and welcomed son Luca together before they went their own ways.

The Younger actress explained that while she can't remember the exact time she knew it was time to walk away, she knew "it wasn't working anymore." She also described the difficulty of processing the end of her marriage while prioritizing her son, saying it was "a really scary time to just not want to f--- up your kid."

"I remember the one thing that was really hard about it was like, processing that it was happening and it was going to happen and going through all those emotions," she said, adding, "You put all your stuff aside and I had to deal with all of that later to just make sure he was OK."

This was reflected in the way she and Comrie would make sure to spend time together as a unit to make the divorce easier for their son.

"Every time we would trade, it wouldn't just be a drop off pick up situation. We would go to the park and hang or go have a meal," she said. "It was really important to me to do it in a way that Luca could feel, like, comfy."

Since her split from Comrie, Duff has since moved on with husband Matthew Koma, whom she married in 2019. They share three daughters: Banks, 7, Mae, 4, and Townes, 1.

Elsewhere in the interview, Duff addressed the claims raised in fellow Disney alum Ashley Tisdale's viral January essay for The Cut revealing that she had broken up with her "toxic mom group." While the High School Musical actress didn't identify anyone by name, speculation quickly swirled online that the group included Duff, Mandy Moore, Meghan Trainor, and more.

"I honestly felt really sad. I was, like, pretty taken aback and just felt sad," Duff said, adding, "It sucks to read something that's not true and it sucks on behalf of like six women and all of their lives."
