FEEL GOOD FRIDAY: Community Steps Up with Meals for TSA Agents

TSA agents are continuing to work at airports across the country despite the federal government’s partial shutdown and the fact that many haven’t received paychecks. In Anne Arundel County, Maryland, a local community effort has stepped in to help, providing hundreds of grocery boxes each week to support agents and their families.

The initiative began when an airport worker at BWI reached out for assistance. Volunteers from a local food bank packed boxes with staples like potatoes, onions, rice, and fresh produce to make sure families have balanced meals. On top of that, organizations like World Central Kitchen are delivering ready-to-eat meals from local restaurants directly to airport staff.

Residents are contributing too, dropping off extra donations when they can. TSA agents say the support is meaningful, allowing them to focus on keeping travelers safe without worrying about feeding their families.
