#PARENTING: Spankings. Kelly Clarkson says she will... will you?

I got spanked... even got swats at school a couple of times for... things... but we've never spanked our daughter...

... what do you think... about SPANKING?

Corporal Punishment. It's an age-old parenting debate which, over time, has become more and more "testy" when it comes to parenting. Some people think it's abusive. Others think that if you "spare the rod, you'll spoil the child."

I don't know about you, but I know I was spanked... and I can't say that it was a bad thing. I certainly know that it brought forth behavior change. I also know I used to stuff Little Golden Books in my pants when my I heard the belt jingling down the hallway at our house in Texas when I had committed some infraction.

Kelly's revelations certainly caused some debate... and even brought forth some shaming... but what do you think? Is spanking a personal parenting decision? Is it wrong? Abusive? Thoughts?

I'll say this... She's kinda right. I'm from the South, too, and that seemed to be something that just happened. In the Northeast, not so much. Heck, I even remember comparing notes on spankings with friends when I was little...
