#WORK: Boundaries are still important for those left working from home!

Just because you’re working in your best loungewear from your couch doesn’t mean you’re immune to burnout. If you’re amongst the many that have been given the green light to continue working remotely, you need to start setting boundaries with yourself and your time to make sure you stay productive and mentally healthy. Here are some to consider.

● Work Boundaries. Do not fall into the trap of always being available. If you try that you’ll soon be burnout 24/7 instead. Make a set schedule and stick to it. When the clock hits five, put away your work, and get to living. No work emails or calls allowed.

● Separate The Personal Life. If you’re working from home and said home has friends or family living in it, it’s going to be tough to keep your focus on work. That is unless you set up a clear boundary with everyone at home during your work hours that when you’re on the clock you should only be contacted in case of an emergency. You’re probably going to need to tell them more than once but eventually it will stick.

● Get Honest With Yourself. Are you a screen junky? Do you know if the TV is playing anything that you will get sucked in? Or maybe you’re the type of person that will be sent a project and decide this is the perfect time to start cleaning your entire house. It’s time to get real about your weaknesses when it comes to the work-from-home lifestyle and address them.
