#HEALTH: Eating your way to a FLATTER STOMACH?! You can do it! Here's how!

Diets can help you slim down, but not all of them are effective for giving you a flatter stomach. But it is possible to trim your midsection without crash diets or depriving yourself. It’s all about the eating habits and these are the ones registered dietitians recommend to get a flatter tummy in a healthy way.

● Drink more water - Staying hydrated is important for your health, but experts say it’s essential if you’re trying to achieve a flatter stomach. Registered dietitian Samantha McKinney advises drinking half your body weight in ounces of water every day. “This not only hydrates, detoxifies, and boosts energy,” she explains, “but it also helps you naturally limit your intake of soda, sweetened coffee drinks and other sugary beverages.”

● Fill up with protein - Increasing your protein intake doesn’t just help you stay full for longer, it can also make it easier to get that flat belly by taking the place of less healthy foods in your diet. McKinney explains that getting enough protein helps stabilize blood sugar and insulin, as well as helping to curb cravings for processed foods because it’s so filling.

● Load up on veggies - To uncover your abs and reach your flat-stomach goals, these nutrition experts advise eating five to seven cups of non-starchy vegetables a day. That will give you all kinds of vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients, as well as “hunger-busting fiber” that helps regulate your appetite.

● Eat more slowly - Next time you catch yourself wolfing down your lunch, try to slow down and take time to savor your meals and it could help flatten your tummy. Registered dietitian Trista Best explains that eating too quickly can cause you to swallow more air than normal and lead to bloating.
