A Florida woman was arrested over the weekend after police found her 3-year-old child asleep on the sidewalk outside of her apartment. Shyla Heidelberg allegedly left her three young children home alone while she went to a nearby nightclub. Heidelberg was arrested upon returning home.
Officers arrived at the apartment complex around 1AM Saturday, after a security guard found the toddler wrapped in a blanket, asleep on the sidewalk. They later learned there were two other young children left unattended in the apartment. It’s unclear how the 3-year-old child ended up outside her family’s home at their apartment complex.
Heidelberg returned home some time later and was immediately arrested. Initially she admitted that she had “gone out to a nightclub” and indicated that she had been gone for about an hour and a half.
