#INTIMACY: What an EXPERT says she wouldn't do in a relationship!

How do you keep the passion alive in a relationship? That all depends on who you ask, and sex expert Emily Jamea has a few ideas. The happily married mom of two is sharing her insight by revealing the five things she would never do in her relationship so we can take notes for our own.

She says she would never:

● Rush into marriage - This one is especially important for younger couples who are still figuring themselves out, Emily says. “Everyone is on their best behavior in the honeymoon phase, so you need that time to see what you want from the relationship,” she explains. And that’s why she says, “I would never get married in under a year.”

● Follow outdated dating rules - Emily says it’s important not to stick to “those silly and outdated” rules for dating, like waiting three dates to have sex or holding off before texting someone back. Instead she recommends, “Do what feels right with who you are.”

● Get lazy with your partner - This sexpert also warns against getting so comfortable in your relationship that you stop making an effort. She says her motto is “let yourself age but don’t let yourself go.” Emily emphasizes that couples need to prioritize their romantic relationship and make time for intimacy, even scheduling sex if that helps make it happen.

● Settle into boring sex - “Keeping sex interesting is important too and mixing it up from time to time,” she says. “You don't need to go ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ crazy but experimenting a bit might help.”

● Criticize a partner for a sexual issue - Emily says a lot of her clients who come to her about a sexual issue are most upset about the way thier partner reacted. “It’s important to have a neutral response,” she shares. “If your partner comes to you about an intimacy issue, it’s good to take a beat before you respond.”
