The 9 movies nominated for Best Picture this year are: La La Land, Hidden Figures, Arrival, Fences, Hacksaw Ridge, Hell or High Water, Lion, Manchester by the Sea, and Moonlight. Of those, Hidden Figures was 18th and La La Land was 20th in the list of Top Grossing Films of 2016 [Domestic]. Arrival was 29th on the list and the next after that was Hacksaw Ridge at 46.
60% of American moviegoers can’t name a single one of the nine movies nominated for Best Picture this year, according to a poll by the Hollywood Reporter.
