List: the Best and Worst Airlines

With airline travel being such a chore these days, flying on a reputable carrier is a must, and a new report reveals which airlines are the absolute best and worst out there.

The PointsGuy.com has come out with their annual airline rankings, looking at ten major airlines and judging them on ten factors, with certain ones carrying more weight than others. Factors that went into the ratings include: airfare (25%), route networks (15%), bag/change fees (10%), cabin comfort (10%), customer satisfaction (10%), frequent flyer programs (10%), on-time arrivals (10%), lost baggage (5%), domestic lounges (3%) and involuntary bumps (2%).

So, what is the best airline out there? Well, overall, Alaska Airlines earns the honor of the Best Airline, and also earns top marks for their frequent flyer program, and comes in second for customer satisfaction and on-time arrival.

On the other end of the spectrum, Spirit is considered the worst out there. Not only does it come in dead last on the overall ranking, but it also takes last place for cabin comfort, customer satisfaction, frequent flyer perks and on-time arrivals. The only place it earned a high score was for cheap fares.
