Simone Biles has solidified her status as the world’s greatest gymnast.
At the United States Championships, she landed two first-ever maneuvers in competition. On Saturday, Biles successfully dismounted from the balance beam with a double backflip with a double twist. Then Sunday night on primetime TV, her floor exercise featured a double backflip and triple twist.
If she’s able to duplicate these feats at October’s world championships, the gymnastics world will name the maneuvers after Simone.
Her high scores led Simone Biles to her sixth U.S. all-around title and placed her as the favorite to gold medal at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. (NBC Sports)
