A local lab is working on a vaccine for the Coronavirus

As of today, February 6th, 2020, the Coronavirus has killed more than 560 people and infected over 28,000 throughout the world. A 2nd person in Maryland is being tested for the virus...meanwhile, The Virginia Department of Health says a patient there has tested negative.

And some big props to the lab in Montgomery County that's working to find a vaccine. Scientists at Novavax in Gaithersburg say that they've accomplished the first step...making a gene of the virus. Now, normally, a vaccine can take up to ten years to create BUT Novavax says it's discovered a way to speed up the process, and their goal is to have the vaccine ready in 90 days. Let's all hope they get it done!!!
